Gemini 10 as a 1966 manned spaceflight in NASA's Gemini program. It was the 8th manned Gemini flight, the 14th manned American flight. Restored Black and White pictures extracted from 16mm camera (increase resolution and noise reduction).
Témoins privilégiés de la conquête spatiale, les caméras ont été présentes dès le début de l’aventure, autant du coté Américain que du coté Russe. Films ayant une définition plus ou moins bonne. L’avancée de l’informatique, des logiciels de traitement et d’assemblage de panoramas rend possible une nouvelle vision de cette aventure. The Mercury Seven were the group of seven Mercury astronauts selected by NASA on April 9, 1959. They are also referred to as the Original Seven or Astronaut Group 1. They piloted the manned spaceflights of the Mercury program from May 1961 to May 1963. These seven original American astronauts were Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra, Gordon Cooper, and Deke Slayton (not on picture). Explorer 1 (January 31, 1958)
Explorer 1 was the first satellite launched by the United States when it was sent into space on January 31, 1958. The primary science instrument on Explorer 1 was a cosmic ray detector designed to measure the radiation environment in Earth orbit. the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency was directed to launch a satellite using its Jupiter C rocket developed under the direction of Dr. Wernher von Braun.Once in space this experiment, provided by Dr. James Van Allen of the University of Iowa, revealed a much lower cosmic ray count than expected.
